Vacancy Description

DUTIES ANDRESPONSIBILITIES

 

·       Participate in assisting Plant Fitters to Monitor and maintain all mechanical plant equipment.

·       Assist Maintenance Department in continuously aligning maintenance schedules to best practice or OEM recommendations.

·       Assist with the planning, organizing and monitoring of maintenance work activities.

·       Assist Plant Fitters in ensuring accurate recording of work activities and reporting.

·       Provide technical support to Plant Manager/Maintenance Manager and Mechanical team.

·       Assist with plant condition monitoring.

·       Drive continuous improvement initiatives.

·       Conduct effective root cause analysis and solution implementation

·       Comply with Company policies and procedures, relevant safety and housekeeping, quality, and environmental standards, as well as client requirements.

·       Other duties relevant to the role as delegated by the Plant Manager/Maintenance Manager and Mechanical team.

       Contributing to availability of critical spares.

 

ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS, REGISTRATIONS, LICENCES & PERMITS:

 

·       Have a minimum of Mechanical engineering diploma with Mathematics; Engineering Science, Engineering Drawing and Mechanotechnology

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

·       High analytical skills

·       Computer literate and report writing skills.

·       Knowledge of engineering science and technology.

·       Basic understanding of OHS Act

·       Ability to read, interpret, understand,and maintain data.

·       Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in written form.

BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES:

·       Able to accept criticism.

·       Effective time management skills with a sense of urgency, comfortable working in a fast-paced busy environment with strict deadlines.

·       Agile and fast learner with curious attitude toward plant engineering

·       Solutions minded.

·       Attention to detail.

·       Proactively work within a team with the ability to work unsupervised.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

·       Local to EDP, Namibia Site

·       Reside in Swakopmund

·       Have a drivers licence.

·       Medically fit in line with client requirements

EXPERIENCE:

·       Minimum of 1 year Mechanical experience.
